Tourism Spotlight
As we begin a brand new year, Greenup County Tourism would like to encourage everyone in the Tri-State area to support Greenup County small businesses. The Ashland Area, as it is often referred to, is undergoing some much needed progressive change. Development of new restaurants and businesses are surely going to turn our great area into a tourism destination. Being situated closely to a city of Ashland's caliber, we receive a lot of spill-over when it comes to business, restaurant, and hotel/motel traffic. Rumor's of established businesses like Dick's Sporting Goods, Kohl's and fast food restaurants, have fueled excitement across Boyd, Greenup, and Carter Counties. Let us all embrace this change so we can begin to understand how vital the tourism revenue could be for Greenup County.

McConnell House Membership Drive
Begins Thursday September 13th. This membership drive is designed to locate corporate partners to assist the Historic McConnell House with its plan to become an area attraction. Corporate sponsors will be recognized through advertising and promotion during all McConnell House events. It will also help sustain the annual events such as the Croquet Tournament and annual Derby Party. The McConnell House will soon be undergoing a property upgrade. This includes building public restrooms in the rear of the back yard, raising the scale house barn, and restoring the porch trimmings.
